Unable To Acquire Generated Key: NOT ACTIVATED

This message is displayed when trying to automatically acquire a generated key when creating a stage file for TSYS indicating the account is not activated on TSYS end. 

For TSYS (Summit) Host EMV:

Verify that values for ‘Host Capture POS ID’ and ‘Authentication code’ are entered correctly.

  • If not, please enter the correct values according to the VAR sheet and acquire the generated key.

  • If correct values are entered and you still receive this message, please contact the TSYS representative or contact TSYS at 1-800-552-8227 select the option for Customer Service to verify the information below (NOTE: If contacting TSYS, the “V” number will have to be provided):

    • Verify the parameters the account is set up as Stage Only Host Capture

    • The account has Authentication and Tokenization enabled

    • Verify the SSL flag is enabled

    • If all of the above are correct, please have the TSYS rep reset the Authentication code and try acquiring the generated key

For TSYS (Sierra):

Verify all values provided on the VAR sheet are entered correctly which includes the “V” number starts with a “7” as required when creating a stage file for TSYS Term.

  • If no, please enter the correct values according to the VAR sheet and acquire the generated key

  • If yes, please contact your TSYS representative or contact TSYS at 1-800-552-8227. Select the option for Customer Service to verify the information below (NOTE: If contacting TSYS, the “V” number will have to be provided):

    • Verify the parameters including the Authentication code

    • The account is set up as Stage Only Term Capture

    • The account has Authentication enabled

    • Verify the SSL flag is enabled

    • Verify the merchant name does not contain a special character (ex: “&”) as this will result in not being able to acquire the generated key.

If all of the above are correct, please contact your TSYS representative to reset the Authentication code and try acquiring the generated key.
